Wildcats Pick up First Win Of The Season Over Belington 38-14

PARSONS – Tucker Valley dominated Belington Middle last Thursday Sept 26th and got their first win of the season with the final score of 38-14.

 
The Wildcats started the game with the ball first and went to work. Brett Reall rushed for 30 yards on the first play to the Hawks 28 yard line. Reall then raced down the field on the second play for a 28 yard touchdown run to put Tucker Valley on the scoreboard with 7:27 left in the first quarter. The PAT failed and the score remained 6-0 Tucker Valley. Belington turned the ball over on their first possession with an interception by Ben Cromer. The Wildcats would then score once again on a 6 play 56 yard drive that was capped by a 33 yard touchdown run by Reall with 2:37 left in the first quarter. The PAT was no good to make the score 12-0 Tucker Valley.

 
Belington then turned the ball over on downs at the Wildcats 46 yard line and Tucker Valley went to work again. Reall would score 4 plays later on a 17 yard touchdown run with 5:50 left in the second quarter. The 2 point conversion was good to up the Wildcat lead to 20-0. Both teams failed to move the ball on their next couple possessions. Then with time running out in the first half Brandon Zirk intercepted the Hawks pass and raced 50 yards down the sideline for a touchdown with 5.4 seconds left in the second quarter. The PAT failed and Tucker Valley took a 26-0 lead into the locker room at the half.

 
With the Wildcats reserves in the game to start the second half the Belington Hawks marched the ball down the field and got a touchdown on a 32 yard run to get the Hawks on the scoreboard with 5:33 left in the third. The PAT was no good to make the score 26-6. Tucker Valley’s reserve offense then took the field and they put together a 4 play 60 yard drive that was finalized by a Corrick Ambrose touchdown pass to Alec Cummings for 49 yards. Again the PAT failed and the Wildcats advantage was 32-6. After a failed Belington drive the Tucker Valley reserve offense got the ball back again. This time Cole Rapp was on the receiving end of a screen pass from Ambrose that covered 54 yards for a touchdown. With the PAT no good the score was 38-6 Tucker Valley. Belington would add a touchdown and PAT conversion late to make the final score Wildcats 38 Belington 14.

 
Brett Reall led Tucker Valley with 150 yards rushing on 7 carries and 3 touchdowns all coming in the first half. Corrick Ambrose in a reserve role finished 4 of 5 passing for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tucker Valley (1-3) will travel to Elkins tonight kickoff is set for 7pm.
