Edward Lynn “Ed” Knotts

edwardknotts20161117_0039Edward Lynn “Ed” Knotts, age 62 years, a resident of the Sugarlands Community, Hambleton, WV departed this life Wednesday afternoon, November 16, 2016 at the Davis Medical Center Emergency Department. He had been in declining health for the past five years.
He was born Friday, July 30, 1954 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Denver Knotts, Sr. and Leota Plum Knotts Parsons, who survives.  On June 14, 1975 at Oakland, Md, he was married to the former Deborah Lynn Mullenax, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy Lynn Hedrick and husband Dave and Sarah Leann Rothenburgh, all of Holly Meadows; two brothers, Danny Knotts and wife Roberta of Holly Meadows and Ricky Knotts and wife Cindy of Horseshoe Run; six sisters, Linda Falls and husband Lee and Gloria “Cookie” Frame and husband Marshall, all of Horseshoe Run, Janet Nestor and husband Gary of Hambleton, twins, Rhonda Cavalier of Leadmine, and Wanda Bohon of St. George, and Cheryl Maxwell of Parsons;  five grandchildren, Sommer, Sidney, Sean, Peyton and Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death are one brother, Denver Mack Stanley Knotts, Jr.; and one sister, Carol Janice Knotts Poster.
He attended Parsons High School.  He was an employee of the former Mullenax Lumber Company, and former employee of the Black Bear Resort at Blackwater Falls State Park retiring in 2012, and a member of the Sugarlands Church of the Brethren.   He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and an avid antique collector. He also enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden and he just insisted on his yard being “perfect”.   Ed’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday from 5 to   8 p.m.  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11 a.m.  Pastor Deborah Strawser and Pastor Sue Metzner officiated and interment followed at the Bonnifield Cemetery at Horseshoe Run, St. George, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Edward Lynn “Ed” Knotts.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
