HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Boys’ Basketball team hosted Tygarts Valley last Wednesday December 30th. The Mt. Lions pulled away in the fourth quarter to pick up the 66-56 home victory.
The game was close in the first quarter as Tucker County held a 12-9 lead at the end of one quarter. In the second quarter the visiting Bulldogs outscored the Mt. Lions 15-13 to make the halftime score 25-24 Tucker County.
The third quarter was won by Tygarts Valley as they outpaced Tucker County by two 17-15 to make the score 41-40 Bulldogs after three. The fourth quarter belonged to the Mt. Lions as they exploded for 26 points in the quarter as they outscored Tygarts Valley 26-15 in the final quarter to pick up the victory 66-56.
Seth Evans led Tucker County with 22 points, 14 rebounds and Ethan Crosten added 12 points, 3 assists. Marcus Mason clipped in 11 points and Josh Kincaid had 9 points for Tucker County. Tygarts Valley was led by Ben Sycafoose with 17 points. The Mt. Lions JV team picked up the victory also 60-44.
