Children bombard Myers and Park workers

What epitomizes summer more than pools and ice cream? Everyone had both at Mill Race Park this past week at a party hosted by the City of Parsons and the Parsons Park Board.

Food abounded and the children splashed their way through several pools and water sprays as the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department joined in the fun. The Engine 10, ‘The Snoozle’, was there to shower the children and adults as well.

The kindergarten classes held a contest to name the new Pirate Ship play set which was recently added to the park. Jason Myers, Parsons City Administrator, christened the ship as the S.S. Tuckineer. The ship, along with Myers and workers from the park, were bombarded with water balloons thrown by the children and a good dousing from the PVFD Department.

Myers said, “We want to make this an annual event to kick off summer.”
