Cortland Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Friends of Cortland invite you to “Light Up A Life” in memory of, or in honor of a loved one. A gift of $5 will light one bulb on Cortland’s Christmas tree. A donation of $50 will light one of the bulbs on the star. There is a limited number of bulbs on the star so send in the requests as soon as possible. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 in the dining room of Cortland Acres. All names and honorees will be printed in a book placed in the main dining room at Cortland Acres throughout the Christmas season. For information call 304-463-4181.
Free Thanksgiving Dinner
There will be a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 at the Parsons Senior Center. For additional information or to place order for delivery, contact Carroll Precht 304-478-4018.

Free Friday
Free Friday will be at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall on Friday, November 25, at 6 pm.
A free meal consisting of chili, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks will be served. No donations will be accepted, and everyone is welcome. Everyone welcome.
Forage Samples
If you are interested in receiving a forage sample now is the time do it. The Tygrats Valley Conservation District provides two free samples for each producer if they are interested in participating.
Testing forages and feed can help you to evaluate the nutrient composition and can determine the potential value of your product. Testing forages also allows for you to feed your livestock in the most efficient manner.
The Extension Office will be taking samples the week of November 28. If you are interested in participating, contact the Extension Office at 304-478-2949 ext:209.
