Edward Leighton Stemple, 90, passed away June 7, 2018 at his home in Baltimore, Md. He had been in failing health for the past nine months.
He was born March 31, 1928 at Scotts Run, near Morgantown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Casto) Stemple; his parents, the late John W. Stemple and Midgetta (Losh) Stemple; two brothers, John W. Stemple, Jr. and Leonard A. Stemple; and four sisters Anna Stemple, Virginia Knotts, Norine Parsons and Nina Wotring.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Kamanski of Baltimore, June Miller and husband Frank of Bel Air, Md.; one son Michael and wife Denise of Baltimore, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Edward was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy from May 1945 to July 1946 and honorably discharged. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
There will be no funeral service as he donated his body to science.
