Kenneth E. Akins, Sr., 75, of Hendricks, WV, died on June 5, 2018 surrounded by his family at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.


Kenneth was born October 19,1942 in Calhoun County, MS. He was the son of the late Everett Earl Akins and Donia Ethel Reedy Akins.

He is survived by his wife, Elenor L. Loughry Akins, his son Kenneth E. Akins (Donna) of Hendricks, WV, his daughter Nancy E. Oldaker (Tim) of Hendricks; three grandchildren, Elizabeth N. Akins (Milan) of Hendricks, Steven Oldaker of Hendricks and Nicholas S. Akins of Oxford, MS; one great-grandchild, Shelby Holden Shrader; two brothers, John W. and Tony L. Akins, and one sister, Mary Jeanette Stark; all who reside in Mississippi, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.He was a carpenter by trade & was retired.

Honoring his wishes, Kenneth was cremated, and the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
