Anzinia Grace Monastra, 83, of Mansfield passed away Thursday morning August 16, 2018 following an extended illness.

The daughter of Gaston and Hazel (Wilson) Poling, Grace was born January 14, 1935 in Parsons, West Virginia.  Grace graduated from Parsons High School in 1953.

Just three years later, Grace married Natale “Nick” Monastra on April 7, 1956.  Grace and Nick moved to Mansfield in 1971.  She was a member of Westbrook Country Club, Colony Club, and University Club.  Grace was also a member of Resurrection Parish.

Grace loved to travel, not only throughout the United States, but also worldwide.  She enjoyed playing bridge and reading.  Grace will be remembered for her generosity and kind spirit.  A loving wife and mother, she cherished her role as a devoted grandma.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Natale “Nick” Monastra; daughters Lisa (Keith) Stoner of Lexington and Amy (Clete) Paumier of Salem; grandchildren Shelby, Lauren, Samantha, Kate, and Jess; great grandchildren Benjamin, Andrew and Lucy Grace (named in Grace’s honor);  brother Glen (Agnes) Poling; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers John and Robert Poling.

The Monastra family received friends Sunday August 19, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services began at 4 p.m.  Celebrant Dave Roberts officiated.  Burial was Monday in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Southern Care Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
