Lorlie Delaine Shaffer, a resident of St. George, WV, born November 29, 1941, left this Earth for Heaven on February 8, 2026. A devoted follower of Christ, Lorlie lived a life that reflected her deep-rooted faith in God. She was the daughter of Okey and Oda (Boyles) Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her brothers Lewis, Paul and Edward Shaffer. She is survived by her nieces Karen (John) Tallman and Paula (Mark) Lanham, great nephew/nieces John (Erin) Tallman Jr, Kayla Lanham, and Samantha (Chris) Davis, great great nieces Willow Tallman, Eleanor and Evalynn Davis, and great great nephew Truett Tallman.

Lorlie attended Brushy Fork School and enjoyed going to church. She devoted her life to caring for her parents and brother all while helping to work and maintain the family farm. She was a great joy to her family, a true angel that spent her time on this Earth unselfishly helping others. A pure soul that no matter what obstacles she faced she always found a way to overcome them. She was an avid gardener who canned what she grew and was an excellent cook. Lorlie never wanted any visitor to leave without a home cooked meal. Every animal loved her be it a dog, cat, or wildlife, even the deer at her kitchen window. She had many joys and talents, some were visiting friends, reading especially her Bible, quilting, painting, sewing, playing music and spending time outdoors. She was always happy to teach or share these with others. She loved spending time with family. Just knowing her made you want to be better. The world is less now that she is gone, but the people that knew her are changed forever by her loving spirit. Lorlie will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 11 AM until 12 Noon, the funeral hour. Rev. Lowell Moore will officiate and interment will follow at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements for Lorlie Delaine Shaffer. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
