Elkins, W.Va. — Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center was recently recognized for its efforts to provide the safest workplace possible.
Leadership at the facility recently received a letter from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration stating that ERCC had been enrolled in the federal agency’s Pre-Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (Pre-SHARP).
Pre-SHARP is an OSHA run program which identifies businesses that maintain a high quality of health and safety.
“We have worked extremely hard to achieve the level of quality in health and safety to be considered for the Pre-SHARP Program,” said Tara Shaver, ERCC’s administrator. “Very few facilities qualify for this program.”
Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center isn’t resting on its laurels. Shaver noted that leadership and staff at the facility are working hard to qualify for the SHARP program. The road to achieving SHARP status isn’t easy. A business must have comprehensive consultation with a complete hazard identification survey, and they must correct all hazards identified in the consultation.
“This milestone demonstrates your small businesses’ commitment to improving workplace safety and health and meeting the requirements for SHARP,” according to the letter concerning the Pre-SHARP enrollment.
“We are absolutely thrilled to qualify for the Pre-SHARP program. We strive to go above and beyond in maintaining the health and safety in our facility. We intend to provide the best care to both our residents and employees,” Shaver said.
Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center intends to work toward full SHARP certification in the following months. In the meantime, they are proudly displaying their Pre-SHARP qualification letter in their facility.
