Blackwater Ridge Hosts Community Open House and Yard Sale on June 13

THOMAS, W.Va. — Blackwater Ridge invites the public to attend a Community Open House and Yard Sale on Saturday, June 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Blackwater Ridge campus in Thomas, West Virginia.

The event will give community members, prospective residents, and visitors an opportunity to explore the growing housing options available at Blackwater Ridge while enjoying a fun community gathering featuring local organizations, refreshments, giveaways, and live entertainment.

Guests will be able to tour available move-in ready condos and villas at The Pines, Blackwater Ridge’s active 55+ community designed for residents seeking mountain living with convenient access to outdoor recreation, shopping, dining, and healthcare services.

Attendees can also preview the ongoing construction at The Rapids Apartments, a new workforce housing development designed for individuals and families looking to live and work in the mountain region. The Rapids will feature modern 1- and 2-bedroom apartment units, with the first apartments expected to be move-in ready by the end of the summer. All apartments include all utilities and internet service.

Several community organizations and local partners will participate in the event, including:

• Tucker County Animal Shelter

• Mountaineer Humane Society

• Preston-Taylor Community Health

• Cortland Acres Health and

Rehabilitation

• Landis Realty

• WDNE 98.9 FM with a live radio broadcast from the event

The event will also include free coffee and pastries, yard sale vendors, giveaways, and additional family-friendly activities throughout the morning.

“This event is an opportunity for people to see the exciting growth happening at Blackwater Ridge and throughout the Thomas area,” said Blake Truman. “Whether someone is looking for an active 55+ lifestyle, affordable workforce housing, or simply wants to connect with local organizations and neighbors, we welcome everyone to come spend the day with us.”
