The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on April 3, 2018.  Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and then sang “God Bless America.”

Those having an April birthday were recognized. They were: Bill Carey and Eva Phillips.  The group then sang “Happy Birthday” to them.

Linda Bonner read the minutes of the previous meeting and they were approved as read.

“It’s April” was read by Debbie Simmons followed by “Another Spring” being read by Vera Lipscomb and “Daffodils” being read by Arlene Ramsey.

The program then switched to thoughts of April Fool’s Day. Linda Bonner read “April Fool’s Day” and Evelyn Moore read “April Fooling”.  Linda then gave a few announcements.

Our entertainment was the “Sonbeams” from the First United Methodist Church. They blessed the group with  several songs including: “In Christ Alone” which was a duet by Dana Corcoran and Deanna Canfield, “He is Risen,” “Thy Word,” “Come to Jesus,” “Mighty to Save,” “Roll Away the Stone,” “It’s About the Cross,”  and “By the Mark.”

Linda Bonner then recognized those who had made New Year’s Resolutions and kept them until April 1st. Each participant received a small gift.

Diane Hinkle then spoke briefly about the County Commission election and the fact that all 3 candidates are Democrats and if you are registered as a Republican and want to vote for a commissioner, you need to change your registration to Independent before April 17th then request a Democratic ballot.

A prayer for the food was then offered by Linda Bonner.

A delicious meal was had by all.
