The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on October 5, 2021. Linda Bonner welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “God Bless America”.

Linda Bonner read a poem about Columbus Day. Arlene Ramsey then read facts about Breast cancer Awareness month. Shirley Cassidy then read “Halloween Night.” The group then had a discussion of superstitions. As they discussed some of the superstitions they were aware of, Linda gave some of the history behind them. If your palm itches…, if a dog howls under your window…,if you put an article of clothing on backwards…, if you break a mirror, or see black cats etc.

The entertainment for the day was Betty Sturm playing her accordion. She played              several selections including: “How Great Thou Art,” “On the Wings of a Snow White Dove,” “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings,” “Send Me Your Address From Heaven,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “The Missouri Waltz,” and “The Blue Skirt Waltz.” The group enjoyed singing along with the songs they knew. It was a fun afternoon for everyone.

Door prizes were won by Don Nestor, Arlene Ramsey, and Randolph Lipscomb.

Linda Bonner gave a blessing for the food and all enjoyed a delicious meal.
