The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on June 6, 2022. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Linda Bonner read the History of the Pledge of Allegiance before everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lord’s Prayer, and sang “God Bless America”.

Those having June birthdays were recognized and everyone sang “Happy      Birthday” to them. Those present were: Ruth Connell and Sharon Daniels.

Ken Knotts read “I Am Old Glory” to recognize Flag Day on June 14th.

Arlene Ramsey then read “My Father” to recognize Father’s Day on June 19th and Eleanor Nestor read “A West Virginia Poem” to remind us that West Virginia Day is June 20th.

Linda introduced our entertainment for the day. We were blessed to have our own Betty Sturm and her sister Ann Radcliffe from Buckhannon. Betty played the accordion and both ladies sang. Their selections included: “Have I Told You Lately”, “Send Me Your Address,”  “Rusty Old Wagon,” “The Sweetest Gift,” “I’m Going Higher,” “I’ve Got More To Go To Heaven For,” “Yes, I Know,” “Waiting At the River,” and “You Are My Sunshine.”

The audience really enjoyed the special music and would like to have them return.

The regular door Prizes were won by: Ken Knotts, Patty Wilfong, and Dale Varner.

Ken Knotts asked a blessing on our food and we enjoyed a delicious meal.
