National Day Of Prayer

The theme for the National Day of Prayer, on May 3, is “Unity in the Church of America”. Prayer will be at noon in Davis City Hall led by Rev. Neil Parsons (304) 614-8704, in Thomas at the flag pole at Thomas City Hall led by Rev. Donna Andes (304) 643-3303, and at the Parsons Court House. For more information: www.nationaldayofprayer.org

National Library Week

April 8-14, is National Library Week, which is also Fine Free Week. If you return your overdue books, Dvd’s and audiobooks during this week, your fines will be waived. The library will be closed Wednesday April 11, for Mandatory Staff Workshop. There is a drop off opening in the front of the library building by the front door for after hour returns.

TC Retired School Employees Meeting

The Tucker County Association of Retired School Employees monthly meeting is noon on Thursday April 12, 2018 at Little Andi’s Restaurant. All retirees are invited to attend. Discussions will include insurance and benefits.

Pickens Ramp Supper

Pickens ramp supper will be saturday, april 21, at the american legion hall in pickens, from 2 to 6 p.m. Ramps, ham, fried potatoes, brown beans, coleslaw with homemade dressing, applesauce, cornbread, dessert and drinks. Adults is: $15 and for children under 12: $5.

Chamber Annual Membership Meeting will be April 11 at 12 p.m. at Rudolph’s in Thomas Please RSVP by April 4 to jessica@canaanvalley.org. $15 per lunch. Meet and Greet with TC Development Authority Director Steven Leyh and TC Planner Dennis Filler

Class on Identifying Trees in Winter

A Winter Tree ID class will be held on Saturday, April 7 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. Ever wish you could look at a twig in winter and be able to ID the tree? Learn how. Dr. Dave McGill from WVU Extension will give us the tools to do just that! Free and open to the public.

PHS Alumni meeting

The Parsons High School Alumni Association will be meeting on Wednesday, April 11, at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons at 5 p.m.. Plans are being made for the annual PHS Alumni banquet to be held on Saturday, May 26.
