Annual Fairview Cemetery Organization Homecoming

President Scott Hebb welcomed everyone to the 42nd annual Fairview Homecoming picnic at the church pavilion on Location Road on June 24, 2018.  A brief business meeting for the maintenance of the two Fairview cemeteries was held following the picnic.

Cindee Campbell read the names of those related to our group who passed away during the past year.  They included Sharon Collett Hovatter of Parsons, Glenn White of Michigan, Daniel “Boone” Pase of Thomas, Betty Jane Watring Lipscomb of Morgantown, Dennis Henthorne of Location Road, Doris Lee Wiles Mascioli of Morgantown, Earl “Mutt” Delaney of Parsons, Tommy Skipper of Location Road, Oved Bohon of Parsons and Lynn Hebb of Texas.  They will be missed, but remembered dearly.

Gary Nedrow explained to the Homecoming group about the completed mapping of both cemeteries and answered questions.

Prizes were given to the Oldest Man attending; 93 year old, David Strahin of Montrose: The Oldest Woman was 91 year old, Marijane Martin of Location Road. Mr. Strahin and Marijane have blessed our group by receiving this honor several years.

The Youngest Girl and Boy attending were once again Kenley Grace Blamble and Zion Hebb, born April 29, 2017 hundreds of miles apart.  Kenley is the daughter of Jonathan and Samantha Blamble of Eglon, WV and Zion is the son of Zach and Jennifer Hebb from North Carolina.

The family traveling the farthest is Robert and Robin Hebb from Hendersonville, NC about 460 miles away.  The prizes consisted of candy filled Mud Mugs with a picture of the Tucker County Courthouse etched on the front made in Thomas, WV.  Ralph and Narel Hebb handcrafted baskets and donated for the youngest boy and girl.

The meeting was adjourned to continue visiting and looking over the cemetery.

Those attending or sending donations for the mowing and upkeep of the cemeteries included Stephen and Regina Sandberg, Dawn Joseph for the Sell/Root families, Jean Brown, Milton and Dawn Canan, the Bohon/Cassidy reunion group, Louetta Sponaugle, Robert and Robin Hebb, Earl and Pat Bohon, John and Joann Golden, Scott and Cindee Campbell, Coty Campbell, Kenny Ott Helmick, Cristy Boggs, Rock Jaci and Austin Clark, Lefty and Vicki Stonebraker, Lois Stone, and Karlee Stonebraker, Butch and Kenanette Burns, Jim and Judy Gilmore, Danny and Roberta Knotts, Danielle Arman and Kaitlyn, Marijane Martin, Scott, Marcy, Alissa, Brooklee and Case Hebb, Gary, Wendy and Kaylee Anne Nedrow, Digger, Stephanie, Tanner and Laney Burns, Ralph and Narel Hebb, David and Wilda Strahin, Mark Bohon, Ron and Connie Helmick, Scott and Sonya Ritter, Allen and Tammy Hebb, John Shiley, Zach, Jennifer, Aletheia, Hezekiah, Trinity, Eden, Lazurus, Daily Grace and Zion Hebb, Lorena Hebb, Greg and Crystal Sigley, Dawn Thorne, Mary Lee, Jonathan, Samantha and Kenley Blamble, Toby, Amber, Briar, Levi and Addalee Hebb, Steve and Bonnie Knotts.

Next years’ meeting will be the last Sunday in June which will be June 30, 2019.
