Elkins, WV – Davis Medical Center’s (DMC) Cardiovascular Lab earned validation as a leader in vascular testing with accreditation for outstanding quality in the areas of Extracranial Cerebrovascular Testing, Peripheral Venous Testing, and Peripheral Arterial Testing.  The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) granted them a three-year term of accreditation.

“To achieve this accreditation, we met high quality metrics and underwent an intensive review of our cardiovascular lab processes by a panel of medical experts,” said DMC Radiology Director Debbie Dean, MS, R.T. (R), (N), (M).  “It’s a ‘seal of approval’ that patients can rely on Davis Medical to provide a consistently high level of cardiovascular care and commitment to continuous improvement.”

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 killer in West Virginia, accounting for nearly a quarter of the state’s deaths.  Early detection of life threatening heart disorders, stroke and other diseases is possible through the use of vascular testing procedures like those done at Davis Medical Center.
