(Moorefield, WV) – Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Eastern) will host a free movie night showing of “The Sandlot” on Friday, August 18.

Community Invited to Enjoy a Movie Under the Stars

The film will be shown at approximately 8:15 p.m. on a giant screen on the Eastern campus lawn located at 316 Eastern Drive. Ample parking is available for guests, who are advised to bring low chairs and/or blankets. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, and picnics are also encouraged.

“The Sandlot” is a 1993 sleeper hit film that is rated PG for family entertainment. It tells the story of the summer of 1962, when a new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in a series of comedic adventures.
“Eastern is pleased to offer this free event to families who live in the surrounding community,” said Eastern President Dr. Chuck Terrell. “Outdoor family movies under the stars are popular summer events throughout the nation and we hope to build a following for them here at Eastern as well.”
