The event aims to promote regional tourism collaboration as a means of developing the economy and creating new opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The summit will host a variety of speakers and discussions to plan our next steps for the future. The scheduled speakers are as follow:

  • Todd Christensen, founder and Executive Director, Southwest Virginia Cultural Heritage Foundation, an exciting model for regional tourism.
  • Chelsea Ruby, Commissioner, West Virginia Tourism Office
  • Heidi Prior, Travel Media Sales and Marketing Executive, Miles Media (WV Travel Guide)
  • Doug Arbogast, Rural Tourism Specialist, WVU Extension Service
  • Dr. Charles Terrell, President, Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College

Working sessions will commence at the conclusion of our featured presentations.

These discussions are to conceive of plans for future collaboration and development in regional tourism. Subjects will include the creation of new trails, events, and the clustering of assets.

The summit is free of charge and open to anyone interested or impacted by tourism. Lunch will be provided. RSVPs are needed by August 18th. Any questions and RSVPs can be addressed to Ethan Serr by email at ethan.serr@easternwv.edu or 304-897-2007 for more information.
