ELKINS, WV– Davis & Elkins College education students have started the student teaching component of their teacher certification in area schools.

Student teaching is the culminating experience in D&E’s teacher education program. Teacher candidates work full-time in public school classrooms under the mentoring of a qualified co-operating teacher. By the end of two seven-week teaching placements, student teachers have gained valuable experience in planning, teaching and managing a classroom.

Josh Evans has started student teaching at Tucker County High School and Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School. Evans is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Evans of Hambleton, WV.

Lindsay Bennett has started student teaching at Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School. Bennett is the daughter of Kimberly Bennett of Davis, WV.
