How many of you out there know people who just can’t keep their nose out of other people’s business? It seems to be a way of life for them to have to know everything about everyone. I just don’t get it, when you go through life minding your own business and these people go out of their way wanting information about you. What is the deal?

Apparently people like that must not have much of a life, it seems they only live to gather information about others. I don’t know what good the information does them when they get it, but it must satisfy them in some way. Momma Said, “Stick your nose where it doesn’t belong, and you might get it chopped off.”

Halloween is just over and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Fifty shopping days until Christmas and time marches on. Working here at the paper seems to make time go much faster. We are always working a week ahead so I sometimes can’t remember what day it is. Momma Said, “You can’t procrastinate, when you have a deadline.” So here I sit, at deadline, typing my fingers to the bone.

I try to get things done in a timely manner, but a lot of the time my brain doesn’t want to cooperate. I think of things to write about at inopportune times, like when I don’t have anything to write with. When I finally find a pencil, I forget what I was thinking about. Sometimes when I am just ready to fall asleep, I will think of things Mom did or said.

November 10, 2013 will be thirteen years since Mom passed away. People say time heals all wounds, but this is one wound that seems to get bigger as time marches on. I can still see her with her pink hair rollers and bandana tied around her head. It is the first part of November with no snow yet and she would be out in the yard mowing grass. She would have been 80 years old this year and I sit and wonder what she would have looked like. I can’t picture her as “an old woman”. I want to think she would not have looked like an old woman, even at 80. If there is grass to mow or anything to paint in Heaven, I assure you, Mom is taking care of it.
