Monongahela National Forest Invites Everyone to September Interpretive Programs at Seneca Rocks

Seneca Rocks, W.Va.,– The staff and volunteers of Seneca Rocks Discovery Center (SRDC) invite visitors and locals to enjoy a variety experiences in September.

  • Woodsy Owl Birthday Celebration – September 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sites Homestead. Woodsy Owl turns 50 and there will be cake, films and giveaways. Woodsy will be present from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Live Music ̶  September 18 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Seneca Shadows Campground Amphitheater. Jane Birdsong performs Appalachian music. Call the SRDC at 304-567-2827 between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. to see if the venue has moved to the SRDC Auditorium in the event that bad weather is forecasted.

 

Programs are open to all and provided at no cost. You do not need to be camping at Seneca Shadows Campground to attend an amphitheater program. Programs are subject to change and may be canceled due to weather.

The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center is open Thursdays through Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The picnic area and hiking trails are open daily dawn to dusk.
