Mountaineer Days was hosted in Thomas, WV Saturday July 3, 2021. Although some of the traditions, such as the parade, block party, and fireman’s water battle did not occur this year, Mountaineer Days 2021 was one full of family, friends, food, fireworks, and laughter.

Saturday morning started off with a 5k/2k Race by Young Life. There was also a cake walk( proceeds went to Mountaineer Humane Society) and Patriotic Bicycle/Pet Decorating Contest sponsored by THOMASYARD. Entertainment was provided on the stage at the old bank parking lot throughout the day and evening.

There were vendors set up on the railroad grade as far as one could see. Food, jewelry, clothing, handmade items, and much more could be found.

At dark the Thomas VFD put on their 64th fireworks display. Sunday morning the Thomas VFD also hosted their traditional pancake breakfast at the fire hall.

The fireworks display for next year will be purchased using donations from this weekend. If you’d like to donate for next years display you may contact the Thomas VFD.
