National Honor Society Collects Canned Goods

Tucker County High School National Honor Society members present canned goods to Mrs. Staron at the Davis Food Pantry.

The Tucker County National Honor Society went “Trick-or-Treating” for canned goods on Sunday, Nov. 3 in Davis, Thomas and Parsons.

NHS members, Joannah Dyer, Ben Flanagan and NHS President Emily White collected non-perishable food items in Davis and Thomas. NHS members Courtney Poling, Bethany Friend, Mitchell Mason and Ian Nichols collected in Parsons. The food drive was a huge success.

Members presented the food items to the food pantry in Davis on Tuesday, Nov. 5 to Mrs. Staron and to the Parsons food pantry on Wednesday, Nov. 6 to Mr. Anderson. There was over 200 pounds of food presented to the food pantries.

The NHS members plan their next service project around Christmas to the nursing home.
