The children and youth of St. John’s United Methodist Church enjoyed some special V.I.P. treatment as the church hosted their annual Children’s Sabbath Celebration featuring “lunch with the pastor,” on Sunday, October 13.   The regular morning worship services included a focus upon the children and youth through the children’s sermon and the pastor’s message “Teach Your Children Well,” based on Deuteronomy 6:1-9.

Following Sunday School, the United Methodist Men treated all the kids to a McDonald’s Meal of their choice, to eat while they visited with the pastor and enjoyed a movie together.  Desserts of cupcakes and cookies followed the meal.  The “movie and a meal” festivity was celebrated by: Kennedy Aker, Emily Dent, Matthew Ends, Sadie Ends, Hunter Grafton, Jaislynn Grafton, Aurora Hall, Ryan Hart, Cameron Judy, Marrisa Judy, Dominique Meadows, Gary Meloy, Isaiah Meloy, Zack Mitchell, Christian Purnell, Dewayne Purnell, Justin Purnell, Ryan Scott, Taylor Scott, Evan Swisher, Hannah Swisher, Lauren Whitehair, and Pastor Philip Dent.  Videos of the service can be seen on the “Media Page” of the church’s website at stjohnsunitedmethodistchurch.yolasite.com.
