Morgantown, W.Va. – Ramesh Daggubati, M.D., vice chair of Cardiology, chief of Interventional Cardiology, and director of Structural Heart Disease at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to cardiology, receiving the prestigious “Beacon of India” Award on March 21 in New Delhi.
The Beacon of India Award honors individuals of Indian origin who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and global impact. It was presented during INDIALIVE 2026, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most respected gatherings of cardiovascular specialists, hosted by the Interventional Cardiology Foundation of India. The conference brings together thousands of cardiologists to share advances in research, education, and patient care.
Dr. Daggubati was selected in recognition of his clinical expertise, leadership, and lifelong commitment to improving outcomes for patients with complex heart conditions. With more than three decades of experience, he completed his medical training in India and advanced cardiovascular training in the United States, including fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology.
In his current roles, he leads programs in complex coronary and structural heart interventions while advancing academic and clinical initiatives at WVU Medicine.
