Sondra Jean “Jeanie” Knicley Pingley, age 65 years, a resident of Dailey, WV, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Jeanie was born in Prince George County, Maryland, September 1, 1960, the daughter of the late Larry Knicley and Betty Knicley, who survives in Parsons, WV. She is also survived by her loving husband, Victor (Vic) L. Pingley, whom she married on August 19, 1995, and her much loved yorkie, Rudy.

She leaves behind one stepson, Joshua Pingley and companion Alisha McLaughlin of Dailey, WV, and one step daughter, Andrea Guy and husband Jonathan of Kenansville, North Carolina. Left to cherish her memory are four step-grandchildren whom she loved, Lilly Pingley, Dailey, WV, and Harlo, Henry and Harper Guy of Kenansville, North Carolina. Jeanie had a close group of friends that she considered family.

Jeanie grew up in Parsons, WV, and was a member of the last graduating class of Parsons High School in 1978. After graduation, she moved to Elkins, WV and entered the work force. She held many different positions throughout her career, but by far the one she loved the most was teaching. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Davis & Elkins College, Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Salem Teikyo University, and a specialization in Gifted Education from West Virginia University. She was employed by Randolph County Schools as an educator for twenty-five years. After her retirement from Randolph County Schools, she returned to her alma mater, D&E, to work as the Office and Testing Manager for the Naylor Learning Center and during this time, she also taught a few special education courses. She retired for the second time in June 2022. She was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church, but attended the First United Methodist Church in Elkins, WV.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins, WV on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 AM until 12 Noon. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 Noon. The Reverend Tim Edin officiated and interment followed at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Beverly, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Ave., Elkins, WV. 26241 The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Sondra Jean “Jeanie” Knicley Pingley.
