The Blackwater Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Presented the Tucker County Commission with a new 5’X8’ flag just in time for America’s 250th Birthday.
On July 8th, the flag was given in appreciation for the Commissioners allowing the placement of the DAR Revolutionary War Patriot Plaque on the front of the Tucker County Courthouse in 2024.
The Flag came with a certificate of authenticity that it was flown over the United States Capital Building on May 25, 2026 and was purchased through Senator Jim Justice’s office. The flag has been dedicated by the Blackwater Chatpter to “all Tucker County Veterans past, present and future.”
Members of the Blackwater DAR sang “God Bless America” for the ceremony and the Tucker County Veterans retired the old flag and raised the new. More photos inside on page 10.
