Lady Mt. Lions softball busy week yields 5 losses

MOOREFIELD – The Tucker County Softball team traveled to Moorefield on Friday April 1st for a double header.
The Lady Mt. Lions managed just 1 hit in the first contest as Moorefield got the victory 12-0.
Cheyenne Phillips collected a single for Tucker County in the loss. The Lady Yellowjackets scored 12 runs off 11 hits.
In the second game Tucker County got on the scoreboard, but the Moorefield offense was still too much as the home standing Yellowjackets got the win 13-3.
Gabby Zais led the Lady Mt. Lions with a 3 for 3 performance at the plate as she collected 3 singles. Dominique Meadows, Abbey Eye, Camryn Cummings, Bella Zais and Cheyenne Phillips ended the game with 1 single. Tucker County scored their 3 runs(Zais, Meadows, Cummings) off of 8 hits. Moorefield collected 13 runs on 9 hits.

CAMP KIDD – Tucker County hosted Preston on Tuesday April 5th for a double header. In the first contest the visiting Lady Knights exploded to score 24 runs as the Lady Mt. Lions fell in the contest 24-8.
Lindsey Herron, Melanie Adams, Dominique Meadows and Camryn Cummings led Tucker County on offense as they went 2 of 3 batting collecting 2 hits each. McKinley Murphy added 1 hit in the Lady Mt. Lions loss.
The second game of the night did not go well for Tucker County as Preston collected 14 hits and held the Lady Mt. Lions to just 4 hits to get the win in game two 12-1.
Gabby Zais, Abbey Eye, Dominique Meadows and McKinley Murphy all singled in the contest, but the Preston offense was too much to overcome as Tucker County fell home 12-1.

CAMP KIDD – The Lady Mt. Lions hosted Notre Dame on Wednesday April 6th for one game. Tucker County was unable to get their bats going on offense and the Lady Irish was on fire at the plate. This resulted in a 16-2 loss for Tucker County at home.
Gabby Zais and Melanie Adams scored the 2 runs for Tucker County. Zais and Adams collected singles for the Lady Mt. Lions and Dominique Meadows hit a double on offense. Notre Dame collected 13 hits in the game that delivered 16 runs.
The Lady Mt. Lions will be back in action on Friday April 16th at home for a double header against Hampshire at 12pm and 2pm. Tucker County will then host Pocahontas County for a double header on Monday April 18th at 4:30pm and 6:30pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
