Tucker County baseball pick up road win at Union

MOUNT STORM – The Tucker County Baseball team traveled to Union on Wednesday April 6th. The Mt. Lions exploded in the 5th inning and got the victory in 5 innings 14-3.
The Mt. Lions scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Eric McCrum, a two-run double by Justin Fike, an RBI single by Isaiah Hollis, an RBI single by Shayne Liller, a two-run single by Garrett Carrico, and an error.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.
Tucker County pulled out the win thanks to a strong fourth inning. The Mt. Lions went up for good on an RBI single by Aiden Bunnell off Nathaniel Evans, plating Corrick Ambrose.
Hollis racked up four RBIs on three hits for Mountain Lions.
Liller recorded the win for Mountain Lions. He allowed three runs over five innings. Liller struck out eight, walked one and gave up five hits.
Tucker County easily handled Union pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored. Every batter for the Mountain Lions recorded a hit.
Evans was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one

Tucker County(2-5) will host Moorefield tonight in a double header that starts at 4:30pm. The Mt. Lions will travel to Trinity on Thursday at 5pm and then they will end the week at Richwood on Saturday April 16th at 1pm. For a complete schedule and more info got to TuckerCountySports.com.
