On Dec. 21 The Parsons VFD responded with 15 men and six units to a fire at Kingsford Manufacturing.

Upon arrival they were briefed by Kingsford safety crews and started fire suppression efforts on one of the belt lines, and remained on scene for approximately two and a half hours.
The damage incurred was minimal, all indication was that Kingsford was ready to start production back on that belt line the following morning.
The Parsons VFD has a great working relationship with Kingsford and its employees. They tour the facility on an annual basis so that they stay up to date with any changes and improvements that are made. Kingsford Manufacturing is always willing to listen and make changes in the name of safety and fire suppression. These communication enables events such as this to go as smooth as possible.

Kingsford is a very vital part of our community as is all businesses PVFD stands ready to assist them at all times.

PVFD was assisted by CO. 40 with two trucks and five men, CO. 47 With three trucks and 11 men, CO. 20 with three trucks and 10 men, and CO. 30 remained on standby. Also assisting was Tucker EMS, WV. State Police and Tucker 911.
