A deck overlooking the river, tables with beach umbrellas, Calypso music and freshly prepared shrimp, crab cakes and fish makes for a relaxing tropical escape to enjoy a meal. Riverside Seafood, located in Parsons offers a great environment and wonderful seafood to those who visit.

PARSONS – Residents and visitors to Parsons have another reason to celebrate – Chef Frank Stone and his wife Karen have opened Riverside Seafood in Parsons. The restaurant offers patrons the opportunity to slow down, relax, enjoy the view and delicious seafood without leaving Tucker County.

Stone said he and wife Karen are originally from Parsons and said they had a fish and chip restaurant in Florida before moving back home to Parsons. Riverside Seafood, located at 222 Water St. in Parsons, offers the opportunity to dine on a deck overlooking the river while enjoying beach décor and music.

“We moved from Parsons to California, from there to Massachusetts and from Massachusetts to Florida,” Stone said. “We were in Florida for about 25 years. Then I suffered a stroke so we came back to Parsons.”

The menu at Riverside Seafood is short and contains seafood favorites – fresh shrimp, either breaded and deep fried or sautéed, breaded fish and chips or a fresh made crab cake. These dinners come with homemade cole slaw, fresh cocktail sauce, freshly prepared hush puppies, crinkle cut fries and a beverage.

Stone said the restaurant also sells shrimp kabobs with mushrooms and tomatoes and a local favorite – chicken wings. And dinners are quite a bargain, ranging in price from $4.50 to $7.00.

Hours for Riverside Seafood are Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Stone said they are trying out new hours of noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

“Everything is going very good,” Stone said. “We hope folks will stop by and give us a try.”
Riverside Seafood accepts to go orders and folks can call them at 304-478-8920.
Additional information about Riverside Seafood is available on their Facebook page.
