Davis, WV. The Tucker County Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 36th Annual Awards Banquet.

This year’s categories are the Educator of the Year, Student of the Year, Employee of the Year, Business Person of the Year, the Community Service Award, and the coveted “Tuckineer”. “Please remember to include a brief explanation why you think this person should be recognized” said Bill Smith, Chamber Executive Director. “It would be a shame for a worthy candidate to be passed over because of the lack of an explanation”.

Nominations for these awards are due to the Chamber office no later than the end of business on Monday, April 28th, 2014 and can be mailed to Awards Selection Committee, PO Box 565, Davis, WV 26260.

“Since 1979, the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce has held this banquet to recognize the individuals that, through their performance in these award categories, go the extra mile to make Tucker County a better place to live, work, and to own or operate a business.” said Chamber President Roxanne Tuesing. “This is an opportunity for some of the county’s ‘unsung heroes’ to get recognized for their efforts” said Tuesing.

This year’s Award Banquet will be held at the newly improved Canaan Valley Resort State Park on Thursday May 15. The event will begin with a “social half hour” at 6:30 p.m. and dinner starting at 7 p.m. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Tickets are only $35 and can be reserved by contacting the Chamber office at 304-259-5315.

For more information on the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce’s events or membership in the Chamber, contact 304-259-5315.
