Barbara Ann Slaubaugh Evans

Barbara Ann Slaubaugh Evans, 74, of the Leadmine Community, passed from this life Tuesday, October 6, 2021, at Davis Medical Center.
Barbara was born Thursday, December 5,1946, in Preston County, a daughter of the late Earl Cecil Slaubaugh and Cora Marie Rhodes Slaubaugh Barlow. On February 6, 1965, she married Donnie Lee Evans, Sr, who survives. They had celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Also, left to cherish Barbara’s memory besides her husband, are four children, Cindy Kelley and husband, Lee Andrew, of Leadmine, Donnie “Lee” Evans Jr. and Melissa, of Bridgeport, Jennifer Warner and husband, Steven, and Kim Metz and husband, Nick, all of Leadmine, twelve grandchildren, Cole Kelley and wife, Karie, Cullen Kelley, and Corey Kelley, all of Shaffertown, John “Logan Evans and wife, Hannah, of Kerens, Payton Evans and Paislee Evans, both of Bridgeport, Evan and Abbie Warner of Shaffertown, Kyler Metz, Marissa Metz, Kaiden Metz, and Parker Metz of Leadmine, two great grandchildren, Jaxon Andrew Kelley and Annabeth June Evans, four sisters: Helen Roth, Virginia Dixon and husband, David, Cheryl Kay Newcomb and husband, Steve, and Pamela Sue Simpson and husband, Tom, and a brother, Earl Slaubaugh and a sister in law Brenda Hebb and husband, John, of Leadmine, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by sisters Reba Williams and Betty Slaubaugh, a brother Billy Mullenax, three brother in laws, Richard Williams, Sam Roth, and Jerry Otis Nestor, and two nephews, Darren Roth and Chad Judy.
Barbara was a graduate of Aurora High School with the class of 1964. She had been employed at Silver Lake Restaurant, Bausch & Lomb and Shop N Save in Parsons. She was an active member of Leadmine United Methodist Church and the Leadmine United Methodist Women for many years. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, yardwork, and caring for her cardinals and hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and her ability to spoil her grandchildren brought her great enjoyment. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Barbara’s request for cremation will be honored and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Barbara Ann Slaubaugh Evans. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
