Richard Edward Kencel, Sr.

Richard Edward Kencel, Sr., age 73 years, a resident of the Clover Run Community, Parsons, WV departed this life Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Davis Medical Center.
He was born Sunday, July 18, 1948, at Baltimore, MD, a son of the late James “Jim” Arthur Boyle and Alma “Katherine” Rosier Boyle.
Surviving are one son, Richard Edward Kencel, Jr. and wife Joyce of Winchester, VA; one brother, Michael Charles Boyle of Clover Run Rd, Parsons; three grandchildren, Lance, Caleb and Eilish; and three great grandchildren, Logan, Emberly and Ean.
Preceding him in death is one daughter, Misty Lynn Kencel.
He attended the Lansdowne High School in Lansdowne, MD.  He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He had worked for the WV Dept. of Highways, Parsons Tannery, the Parsons Shoe Plant, Nella’s Nursing Home, was a correction officer at Huttonsville and he was a driver for Lamberts Ambulance service in Parsons.  He was a member of the WV Trappers Association and a member of the Odd Fellows I.O.O.F. #116.  Richard was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and trapping.
Mr. Kencel’s request for cremation was honored.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Richard Edward Kencel, Sr.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
