Charles “Chuck” R. Paugh, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” R. Paugh, Jr., 64, of Thomas, WV, passed away on February 22, 2023, at Stonerise Healthcare in Kingwood, WV. Born on October 13, 1958, in Parsons, WV, he was the son of Joan (Parsons) Wilcox and the late Charles Richard Paugh, Sr.

Chuck was a 1976 graduate of Mountaineer High School and pursued the career of a coal miner.  He was a member of the Community Bible Church of Davis. Known as the “fast one”, he was an exceptional softball player, playing with all of his friends for the Superclub and Paugh’s Exxon for many years. He enjoyed watching sports, going hunting, and watching westerns. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Glenn “Ajax” Wilcox; two children, Holly M. Paugh and fiancé Freddy, and Aaron C. Paugh and fiancé Tracy; four grandchildren, Marcus Crowl, Kaili Crowl, Railynn Paugh, and Cameron Goodwin; three siblings, Teresa “Terri” Santello and husband Rich, Cheryl “Sherry” Paugh, and Brian “Scott” Paugh and wife Crystal; two step sisters, Lynette Myers and husband David, and Mary Susan McWhorter and husband Mark; aunts, uncles, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tamara Paugh; step sister, Elaine Wilcox; and step brother, David Wilcox. 

Friends were received on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Avenue, Davis. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in the funeral home with Rev. John Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. 

The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Paugh family at this time.
