DIANA ELAINE IRVIN HELMS

DIANA ELAINE IRVIN HELMS, age 71 years, a resident of the Blackman Heights Community, Hambleton, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday afternoon, May 29, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.  She had been in declining health.


She was born Monday, November 18, 1946 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Fred “Bud” and Mary Lee Ramsey Irvin.  On September 26, 1974 at Oakland, MD, she was married to George Edward Helms, who survives.

Also surviving are five children, Tammy Darlene Sine, Dale Gerald Nestor, II and wife Cindy, Darrell Allen Nestor and wife Linda, all of Hambleton, Terri Ann Close and husband Tim of Hanover, PA, and Teresa Dawn Betler and husband Mike of Parsons; one brother, Donald Wayne Irvin of FL; ten grandchildren, Ryan Nestor, Derek Nestor, Connor Nestor, Adriene Nestor, Susan Moore, Stephanie Alkire, Andrew Wilfong, Emory Close, Mikala Betler and Wyatt Betler; and four great grandchildren,

Preceding her in death was one sister, Darlene Irvin Parsons.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1964.   She was an employee of the Tucker County Court House, working as the Chief Deputy in the Circuit Clerk’s Office for twenty-two years and retiring in April of 2017.  She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Parsons.  She was a kindhearted, devout Christian, was a wonderful Mother and Wife and she dearly loved her family.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 1, 2018   at 11 a.m.  The Rev. J. Michael Lantz officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.   At Diana’s request, the casket remained closed. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for DIANA ELAINE IRVIN HELMS.   Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
