Edward Grant “Pete” Kepner, 40, of Canaan Valley, WV died January 20, 2016. He was born June 13, 1975 in Oakland, MD a son of the late Edward Smith Kepner and Linda Diane Ruff (Terry) Smith of Stuarts Draft, VA who survives. Also surviving are his sister, Diane Dalton of Lynchburg, VA, his grandfather, Edward R. Kepner of Thomas, WV and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.
Pete worked in food service most of his life. He was most recently employed at Amelia’s Restaurant in Canaan Valley. Pete loved nature. He was an avid fly fisherman, ran track in high school, held a brown belt in karate and read National Geographic magazines monthly. He was a huge WV history buff and WVU fan. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge # 103. Pete lived life simplicity.
Friends were received on Thursday January 28 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday January 29 at 11 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment followed in the Davis Cemetery.
