Age 96 died Monday November 11, 2024, following a brief illness. Born in Thomas, WV and lived in Canton most of his adult life. He was a graduate of Fairmont State University and served in the U.S. Air Force. Ed retired from East Canton High School working as a teacher as well as the head baseball coach and assistant football coach. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara (DiBacco) Sedmock of the home; sons: Mark (Karen) Sedmock of North Canton, Matthew (Donna) Sedmock of Akron, Michael (Christen) Sedmock of North Canton, Patrick (Christy) Sedmock of Uniontown; daughters: Ann (Mike) Looby of Canton, Linda (Mike) Costello of Magnolia, Emma George of North Canton; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Dr, David M. Misbrener as celebrant. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. We would like to extend a special, “Thank You” to the staff at Canton Christian Home for all the personal love and care. Donations may be made in his name to St. Peter Catholic Church.
