Elizabeth P. DiBacco Petrella

Elizabeth (Betty) Petrella, age 89 of Sun City West, Arizona formerly of Windsor, Ct. passed into the hands of the Lord on Sunday June 30, 2013. Betty was one of eight children born to Salvatore and Candida DiBacco in the small coal mining town of Thomas, West Virginia on May 22, 1924. She spent her long and active career as a Registered Nurse and retired as Head Nurse for the Windsor, Ct. Public School System.

Betty is predeceased by her husband Frank and is survived by five loving children and their spouses, nine Grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. Betty is also survived by one brother Tony DiBacco of Keyser, West Virginia and is predeceased by five sisters and one brother; Maria, Philomena, Adeline, Page, Assunta, and Carmen.

Betty’s life will be a celebrated at Saint Gabriel Roman Catholic Church at in Windsor, Ct. followed by a peaceful reunion with her husband Frank at the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery also in Windsor, Ct. Services for Betty will be determined by family members at a future date.

Donations may be made in her honor to the Resident Council Freedom Inn 13810 W.Sandridge Drive, Sun City West, Az. 85375 whose dedicated staff provided compassionate long term care for Betty or Hospice of the Valley 9720 W. Peoria Avenue, Suite 128 Peoria, Az. 85345 for making her final weeks in this life comfortable and dignified.
