Frances Mary Shaga

Frances Mary Shaga, 100, of Davis, WV passed away May 28, 2014.

FrancesShagaShe was born March 8, 1914 in McKeesport, PA a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kocjancic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Shaga, who passed in 1978. She was also preceded in death by two sisters. She is survived by a huge family of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great nephew.

Mrs. Shaga worked as homemaker. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, and SNPJ Lodge. She enjoyed being a caretaker of the elderly and making rugs with her loom. She was known for her potica and apple strudel.

Friends were received Friday, May 30, from 5-8 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Home. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church P.O. Box 300, Thomas, WV 26292
