GeraldShawGerald Wayne “Jerry” Shaw, age 70 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016 at Colonial Place with his loving family by his side and under the care of Mountain Hospice. He had been a resident of Colonial Place since November of 2015
He was born Friday, February 22, 1946 at Elkins, WV a son of the late George Campbell “Cam” and Belva Grace Sherman Shaw. On June 30, 1989 at Hagerstown, MD he was married to Yong Cha “Kim” Shaw who preceded him in death June 3, 1990 as a result of a car accident near Charlestown, WV. Surviving are his only sister, Wilma Jeane Shaw Morral and husband Jim of Laurel Mountain Road; and a niece Shannon Grace Morral Titchnell and husband Eric of Laurel Mountain Road.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1964 and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War serving from 1965 to 1968. He had worked for the Department of Interior, National Park Service in Harper’s Ferry WV as an Electronics Mechanic, retiring in 1994.
A Private Family Gathering will be held. The Rev. Danny Franke will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Tucker County Veterans Association, P. O. Box 95, Parsons, WV 26287 for the Vietnam Veteran’s Wall. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Shaw. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
