Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans

Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans, age 84 years, a lifelong resident of Tucker County, WV, and more recently a resident of Cumberland, Md, departed this life early Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center in Cumberland, MD. She had been in declining health.

She was born Monday, June 2, 1941, at Cumberland, MD, a daughter of the late Wilber “Webb” Thrasher and Mildred Marie Auvil Thrasher. On March 13, 1998, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Clinton Roy Evans, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Ellen Marie Johnson and husband David of Benbush; and three grandchildren, Ross Payton Johnson of Elkins, Brenna Perriero and husband Derek of Maysville and David Johnson of Benbush; two great grandchildren, Piper and Maddison; and nephew, Roy Gray and wife Sharon of Cumberland, MD.

Preceding her in death are one son, David Lee Hull; one brother Wilber Thrasher and her twin sister, Sylvia Gray.

She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She loved to listen to country music.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 12 Noon. Pastor Donna Bolinger officiated and interment followed at the Shaffertown Cemetery at Leadmine Road, St. George, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
