H. Thomas “Tom” DiBacco, Jr.

H. Thomas “Tom” DiBacco, Jr., passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Davis Medical Center. He was in his usual health and the death was unexpected. He was born November 12, 1943 in Thomas, WV, a son to the late Alice Roberts and Harry “Reggie” DiBacco.

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Hamrick) DiBacco; two

daughters, Kathy (DiBacco) Nichols and husband Shawn of Holly Meadows, WV and Lori DiBacco of Charleston, WV; four Grandchildren, Ian Nichols, Elizabeth Nichols, Allison Phillips, and Emily Phillips, whom he loved spending time with.

 

Tom graduated with the class of 1961 at Mountaineer High School and obtained a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Kennedy Western University. He was employed by Mt. Storm Power Station where he worked for 35 years, starting as a Journeyman Electrician, and retiring in 2000 as an Environmental Compliance Coordinator. His many hobbies included Amateur Radio Operator Extra Class, wine making, woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and water skiing in his younger days at Mt. Storm lake. His other interests included electronics and TV repair which led to owning his own business Tom’s Electronics. After retiring he also operated a wind energy consulting company.

 

He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Parsons, WV and also member of Knights of Columbus Council 2010 and a Fourth Degree Member of F.A. Spillar Assembly.

 

Friends were received Thursday, October 14, from 6-8 p.m. with rosary held at 7:30 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m., Friday, October 15 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Smay as celebrant. Interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the DiBacco family at this time.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Heart Association (162 Court Street, Charleston, WV  25301).
