Hugh Carson Bright

Hugh Carson Bright, 75, a resident of Dry Fork, passed from this life Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Charleston Area Medical Center.  He had been in declining health.

 

Hugh was born on Monday, February 16, 1948, a son of the late Glenn Ruford Bright and Edna Elizabeth Jones Bright.  On August 31, 1974, at Harman, he married Bonnie Joyce Bennett Bright, who survives.  They had celebrated forty-nine years of marriage.

 

Left to cherish Hugh’s memory besides his wife, is a son, Ruford Adam Bright and wife, Theresa of West Union, a step-grandson, Brandon Rieke, a brother, Dwight Bright and wife, Carolyn, of Hendricks.

 

Preceding Hugh in death besides his parents were two infant brothers, Glenn Edward Bright and Terry Lynn Bright.

 

Hugh graduated from Parsons High School with the Class of 1966.  He had worked for Kingsford Company, Parsons Footwear and Canaan Valley State Park. Hugh was a member of the National Rifle Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his pet deer. 

 

Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.  Rev. James Snyder will officiate, and interment will follow at Buena Cemetery in Canaan Valley.
