Joan Carol Greenfield Armbruster

Joan Carol Greenfield Armbruster, 81, of Canaan Valley, WV passed away December 31, 2021 at UC Health Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO. She was born September 13, 1940 in South Bend, IN a son of the late David Gerard and Edna Rose Engelhardt Greenfield.

Mrs. Armbruster was preceded in death her husband, Larry Francis Armbruster, whom she married on January 7, 1967 and brother Dana (Pat) Greenfield.  She is survived by two sons, Edward (Angela) Armbruster, Barboursville, WV and John (Danielle) Armbruster, Colorado Springs, CO, one sister, Marlou (Donald) Fulton, Reynoldsburg, OH, four grandchildren, Natalie and Brett Armbruster, Barboursville, WV, Adyson and Audrey Armbruster, Colorado Springs, CO.

Mrs. Armbruster was a graduate of the West Virginia University (BS and MS Biology) and West Virginia Tech(Register Nurse). She worked for West Virginia Tech as a Biology Professor, Montgomery General Hospital and WV DHHR for 30+ years. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church Congregation. She became an avid quilter later in life and enjoyed spending time with her fellow quilters. She loved supporting youth activities in sports and music.

At the request of Mrs. Armbruster, she will be cremated. Friends will be received at Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2 – 4 p.m. in Davis, WV.  A memorial service held at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Peter Vial officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your choice of charity or to the Tucker County Ambulance Authority 215 first St. Parsons, WV 26287.
