Mildred Oda Sturms, 88, of Elkins, WV passed away November 20, 2017 at Cortland Acres. She was born January 18, 1929 in Horse Shoe Run, WV a daughter of the late Charles Walter and Mary Henline Dumire.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Sturms, four brothers; Blain “Buddy” Dumire, Richard “Pete” Dumire, Otis Oliver Dumire and Paul Dumire, four sisters; Louella Fike, Pauline Leary, Faith Dumire and Ruby Selders. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include nieces; Bonnie Leary, Davis, WV, Eva Farmer, DE, nephews; D.E. (Kathy) Dumire, Oakland, MD, Walter (Geneva) Dumire, DE, Davey (Denise) Leary, Holly Meadows, WV and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Mildred enjoyed flowers, cooking, travelling and watching soap operas.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Friday Nov. 24 from 4-8 p.m.. Funeral services was held on Saturday Nov. 25 at Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Callaway officiating. Interment followed in the Accident Cemetery, Eglon, WV. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
