Nancy Marie Rowan Nester

Nancy Marie Rowan Nester, age 71 years, a resident of the Bull Run Community, Parsons, WV, departed this life early Saturday morning, August 14, 2021, at her home.  She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.

She was born Thursday, May 11, 1950, at Keyser, WV, a daughter of the late Leo McComus Rowan and Genevieve Beatrice Rowan Kitzmiller.  On May 11, 1974, at Kitzmiller, MD, she was married to James Berkley Nester, Sr., who survives.

Also surviving are her son, James Berkley “JR” “Jake” Nester, Jr. and wife Betty of Parsons, sister-in-law, Jean Long and husband Ben of Parsons and niece and nephews, Kelly Underwood and companion Carl, Rocky Corcoran and companion Vivian, Kevin Corcoran and wife Tammy and Rick Corcoran and wife Dana.
Preceding her in death is one brother, Leo Chester Rowan.

She was a graduate of Southern High School with the class of 1968.  She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at Parsons, where she was active in the Lady of Mercy Womens Guild.  She worked for the National Resource Conservation Services for five years and she operated the Five Rivers Food Coop for thirty years.  Nancy loved her petunias and impatiens. She very much enjoyed canning food and helping other people, she had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM.  On Monday evening at 6:30 PM, a prayer service will be recited by The Reverend Father Timothy Grassi.  On Tuesday morning August 24, 2021, the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 11AM.  The Reverend Father Martin Smay will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Nestor/Nester Cemetery at Bull Run, St. George, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Nancy Marie Rowan Nester.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
