Robert Lee Evans, Sr., 78, of Eglon, WV, died as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Aug. 5, 2021. He was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Shaffertown, WV; a son to the late Herbert and Ruth (Humphreys) Evans.

Bob married Wanda (Harsh) Evans on May 14, 1966, at Red House, MD. In addition to Wanda, Bob is survived by two children, Robert Lee Evans, Jr., and wife Stacey, and Carolyn Helmick and fiancé Allen Custer; a granddaughter, Sierra Michelle Evans and fiancé Brett Sanders; grandsons, Anthony Helmick and wife Caylin, Robert “Trey” Evans III, and Bryson Henry Evans; brothers, Ernest “Sonny” Evans and wife Deane, and Theodore “Buster” Evans and wife Cookie; sister-in-law, Peggy Evans; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Evans, Sr.

Bob was a graduate of Tucker Co. High School class of 1962. He had worked for Sterling Processing, Kingsford Charcoal, and Coastal Lumber. However, the job he loved the most was being a farmer, taking care of his horses, and most recently, a man’s best friend, his dog, Brownie. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

At Bob’s request, he will be cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Evans family at this time.
