Timothy Wayne Owens, Sr.

Timothy Wayne Owens, Sr., 63, a resident of Hendricks, passed from this life Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV, after a short illness.

Tim was born Monday, January 27, 1958, in Parsons, a son of Melvin O. Owens and the late Dolly Louise Shahan Owens.

Also left to cherish Tim’s memory are three children, Tim Owens, II and wife, Krista of Parsons, Carrie Munson and husband, David of Williamstown, and Jada Owens and companion, Hunter Riley of Elk Garden, his companion, Brenda Poling, one sister, Mary Louise Linton of Thornton, four brothers, Douglas Ray Owens and wife, Sandi of Parsons, Steven Owens of Morgantown, Robert “Mark” Owens of Parsons, and Paul Owens and wife, Karen of Amity, AR, thirteen grandchildren, Maci, Maylena, Lydia, Judah, Josiah, Jeremiah, Corey, Jackson, Jacob, Aaron, Micky, Colin and Micah, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Tim in death besides his mother was a grandson, Seth Owens.

Tim was a graduate of Parsons High School and had worked for Truman Canfield Sawmill, and as a carpenter for Frank Roberts Construction and Whitney Construction. He enjoyed reading, gardening, watching westerns, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, digging ramps, mushrooming, and growing flowers. He loved being down on the farm and spending time with his brothers. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery near Parsons.
